Some photographers have a talent for seeing the beauty in simple things. Ciro Totku, originally from Moscow, lives and works in Cambodia. He uses minimal equipment and relies on natural/available light.
I don’t want to say that doing this sort of photography is easy. It is, yet it isn’t. But minimal, abstract photography is definitely very doable for a novice or for someone lacking gear.
Look for simple colors and a splash of an accent
Or bold colors set within a repeating pattern
A small pop of color in an otherwise mundane scene.
Or leading lines to control where your eyes go.
